Latvian Information and Communication Technology Association (LIKTA) together with project associated partner Ventspils Digital Centre has finished DCDS pilot training in Latvia. Selected 28 participants have gone through an almost 2 month long learning process of piloting the DCDS training programme in Ventspils.
All pilot participants were divided in 2 groups based on their previous experience, interests and digital skill level. Both groups started training on beginning April and finished their DCDS learning experience in the end of May. The first group with lower level skills focused their training more on digital skills for daily life and social inclusion and the second group focused on digital skills for employment.
DCDS pilot training was organized as a blended training course and face to face meetings are supplemented with online learning through e-learning environment digitalcompetences.eu. E-learning platform offers self-assessment test, learning materials, summative and formative tests for individual training and practical tasks to establish the knowledge gained in face to face meetings.
Pilot participants showed high interest and involvement in the learning process and acknowledged the step by step approach training provides. Participants were pleased with the opportunity to participate in pilot training and with the high quality performance of the Ventspils Digital Centre trainer. After the training course participants expressed their gratitude using the newly gained skills to create a thank you note to the trainer: “We thought that we know a lot. You told us we can learn so much more. We were afraid that it would be difficult, but with your guidance we unexpectedly learnt so much.”
