On 11-12 June Latvian Information and Communication Technology Association (LIKTA) welcomed members of eight DCDS partner organisations in Riga for the 4th Project Meeting. Meeting took place in Microsoft Latvia office and Innovation Centre of the University of Latvia and Microsoft.
The meeting was organized after few intensive and hardworking months while DCDS piloting stage is moving towards the finish line. The first of the two-day meeting was dedicated to DCDS pilots and dissemination activities. Almost all partners have completed pilot training of Digital Competences Development System, which is an integrated modular system to develop basic digital and transversal competences of digitally low-skilled adults. LIKTA presented the overview of DCDS piloting in Italy, Latvia, Romania, and Spain, which gathered together more than 200 pilot participants in six piloting sites. Each of the piloting partners presented first insights in pilot training results and feedback. The experience of each partner organisation was very interesting as unique, as each of the pilot sites addressed different target groups – seniors, employed, teachers, migrants and other people falling under the criteria of “25+ low digitally skilled people’. In the end of the first day partners agreed on the next steps needed to prepare a joint Piloting Report to be available for stakeholders.
Second day was devoted mainly to discussions on how to improve training methodology and online platform. Piloting groups and trainers have provided a valuable insight how to develop training methodology and environment into a more user friendly and useful tool for potential students and trainers for future wider exploitation all over Europe. Partners also discussed about Policy Influence Toolkit for training providers and policy recommendations based on data analysis for further exploitation and transfer by policy makers on e-inclusion, adult education and Digital Skills Agenda which will be finalised during the upcoming months.
Two productive days helped to look back at the work done so far and marked next steps for the project. DCDS training approach will be presented to stakeholders on October 10-11 in Bologna at the ALL DIGITAL Summit 2019.
