DCDS Final International Event at the ALL DIGITAL Summit in Bologna
The Digital Competences Development System (DCDS) project held its final event at the ALL DIGITAL Summit in Bologna on 11 October 2019. The project experience, findings and results were presented at the plenary session, at the workshop, and during various bilateral meetings held with project partners.
DCDS has developed a modular digital skills assessment and training system aligned to DigComp 2.1 to improve basic digital and transversal competences of adults.
DCDS offers access to blended courses (online, offline and face-to-face training) and consists of:
- Digital Competences Development Methodology (DCDM) for developing digital and transversal competences of adults;
- Digital Competences Development Environment (DCDE), the online platform implementing the DCDM.
DCDS was presented at the Summit in plenary settings as well as in a workshop.
The plenary session, moderated by the DCDS project partner from CSF Altheo Valentini, gave a comprehensive overview of the project and its achievements. Peter Palvolgyi from ALL DIGITAL introduced the project and partnership, explained the rationale behind the project, milestones, key outcomes and pilot results with feedback from trainees and trainers.
Stefano Kluzer from AECA explained the methodology, its alignment to DigComp, learning outcomes, units and paths.
Achilles Kameas from HOU presented the Digital Competences Development Environment, showing the main functionalities and tools of the learning platform and gave the overview of the DCDS as a system with its innovations and potential exploitation paths as well as policy recommendations.

The plenary session was followed by the workshop “How to use the Digital Competences Development System”.
The workshop started with an interactive online quiz that illustrated the contents and levels of the system and then dived into more detailed presentations of the DCDS main components: methodology, self-assessment test, online environment. Participants learned how to create a training course based on DigComp, which is based on learning outcomes and composed of learning units, modules and paths which make up the full training course. A practical walk through the online environment was provided, and experienced trainers shared tips and lessons learned.
Workshop participants were asked for their ideas for further exploitation, which were taken into consideration and are currently used for preparing the Policy Toolkit and for organising the Policy event in December 2019 in Brussels.
During both days of the Summit, the project was promoted by the partners and at the special stand of ALL DIGITAL at the Project marketplace during breaks.
