The second multiplier event of the DCDS project was organized by Associazione Centro Studi Città di Foligno on the 19th of December 2019 at the Digipass Foligno. During these weeks, CSF in collaboration with Digipass is delivering basic ICT courses to adult students currently enrolled in the University of the Third Age. It was a great opportunity to show the participants the latest version of the DCDE platform and introduce them to the DCDS project. Participants expressed their interest in the platform and the possibility of following a blended course as they are used to attending traditional F2F classes.
The event also set the basis for future exploitation of the DCDE at Digipass. This hub offers citizens the opportunity to access digital services with the support of digital animators, and it is also the center where the DCDS piloting took place. Digipass often delivers courses to adult people that focus on digital skills acquisition, and DCDE offers good tools and resources to meet the needs of low skilled adults. Among the tools that were much appreciated, there is the Self Assessment Test that can help participants to identify their gaps and then map their competences. In fact, together with the Digipass facilitator Danilo Calabrese and the multiplier event participants, it emerged that the recognition of the competences acquired following basic ICT courses is a crucial step that is too often missing.
The promotion of the DCDS project and platform in Italy will continue next year thanks to the collaboration with CPIA 2 Rome (the Public Center for Adult Education in Rome) where we have already planned a series of five workshops addressed to the learners of the Institute, but open to anyone else interested. A detailed calendar will be soon published online with more information on the venue and the detailed programme.
